I loved your assignment. I reproduced "More than you know" by Axwell Λ Ingrosso and "Let her go" by passenger, and I must say this activity allowed me to discover a lot of words I did not know about my two favorite songs in English. Thus, now I can enjoy them even more, and learned new vocabulary in different accents.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the storybook, I liked the freedom you gave us when doing it. Personally, I think about this activity as something more enjoyable than as an assignment. In general, you are very clear with your instructions and the listening and writing parts are very well divided.
Thank you so much for your feedback! I’m really happy to hear that you enjoyed working with two songs you already loved, because that’s exactly what I wanted to happen, basically learning through something that feels personal and fun. It’s great that you discovered new vocabulary and even noticed different accents. That’s such an important part of improving our listening skills with music >3<
DeleteThis was amazing, congrats! I really enjoyed it because, apart from being a foreign languages student, I have also dedicated most of my life to music as an art, so actually connecting music with language learning brings me good memories of my own learning. After spending some time in Lyricstraining.com I realized there are a lot of songs I know, but the sang the lyrics wrong, and it made so much sense after years of signing and not understanding. One of the things I like the most about learning through music is the authenticity of emotions portrayed by authors, which is totally useful as a form of learning vocabulary, sentence structures, and even reflecting. Also, the activity of creating a story around the song goes beyond my expectations, since learning is not online input, but also output, and creative writing is the best way to implement it. Good job, Me. Jo.
