This creative writing activity is intended for ESL students ages 12 and up.
(The main purpose of this activity is to help ESL students improve their writing skills by learning about themselves and their beliefs using creativity writing and visual elements).
Have you ever thought about leaving an impactful statement in the world that embodies you? A manifesto is one of the best ways to do it! For this multimodal task, you will have to write a short personal manifesto (max 100 words) in which you portray one of your opinions, ideas, beliefs, or thoughts, and to make it more engaging you will use 2 verbs (which will provide the actions of your statement and add a specific tone you want to show in it) and 2 nouns (which will provide the emotional value of your statement and will be the core of it). To pick the verbs and nouns, you will work on your creative and improvisational skills, using random words.
Instructions:
1- Watch this video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhII4jInot8 on what a manifesto is and how to write one. See their examples here https://www.lifehack.org/articles/lifestyle/10-awesome-inspirational-manifestos.html
.
2- With the information in the video and examples, think about an opinion, idea, intention, vision, or personal thought that you want to share with the world.
3- To work on your creative writing and improvisation skills, use the website https://randomwordgenerator.com/ and generate 2 verbs and 2 nouns that will be an essential part of your manifesto.
4- At this point, you are ready to begin your manifesto writing process!
5- Use Canva, Prezi, or another application or website to transform your text into a post (in addition to the text of your manifesto, you can add images, figures, etc any design that you think best suits your needs).
6- Finish by publishing the link of your manifesto in a comment of this post or upload the image of your manifesto and share it with your classmates.

Carolina, this is a creative task. The strategy is clear, provide students with details they will use for the creation of their manifesto. It is also good that you provide some useful software to facilitate the process. I missed clear instructions about how it was going to be graded. Overall, good.
